Lorelei Skin Deep On the Surface @runway_runaway_collection

 Hello My Beauties.

In case you missed Skin Deep #2 On The Surface I wanted to share some information that came through with my Special Guest the beautiful, multi-talented artist, photographer, costume designer, HELEN L. COLLEN. Helen and I share the love of community especially where women support women. This month on our Zoom all of us welcomed each other in what we are now calling The Leppardett Beret Brigade #TLBB wearing our iconic Royal French Berets with Leppard Crest. These berets are designed by yours truly, Lorelei Shellist, and graphic Leppard Crest by Helen Collen @thework67.

Here's a Recap of SKIN DEEP #2.

Helen and I acknowledged all of the women who showed up for the meet, gave each of you a voice and answered many questions. We talked about our go-to - everyday remedies to help keep our skin, hair, nails, and bodies hydrated and moisturized. We stressed the importance of enhancing not hiding your beauty. Knowing your face and your go-to products to make your life easier and your skin healthier. All of this leads to my intention which is to “Add to the sum of BEAUTY in the World.” Inside and Out. When we take time for ourselves. When we love and nurture ourselves, everyone else we come across in our lives benefits.

Helen shared about her 18 year BTS career as a costume designer in Theater Film and TV from Brooklyn NY. Mrs. Collen's credits are endless. Working as a wardrobe dresser and wardrobe supervisor for theatrical productions on Broadway, Regional Theater, The Kennedy Center and much more. She toured with Dancing With the Stars, and John Mellencamp. Late Night with David Letterman in NYC. Later working for Live Nation’s “I Love All Access” on tour with Kanye, Rhianna, N.E.R.D., EWF, Jennifer Hudson, The Eagles, and Def Leppard…where she met her husband, and father of her son Jaxson, Phil Collen, lead guitarist and songwriter for Def Leppard.

Helen shared her go to products along with her friend Lora Jackson who is an in demand esthetician in Beverly Hills! Here are some tricks we shared after experiencing life in the fast lane and living on the road in order of importance.

  1. Healthy Choices. Good Eating Habits. Home cooked Meals. Vegetables, Salads, Clean food, not greasy, starchy of sugary food.
  2. Hydrate. Drink alkaline and coconut water. Eat alkaline fruits and veggies like watermelon, cucumbers, celery, green apples, avocados.
  3. Wash & Moisturize face, neck and hands everyday - twice a day.

    • Lora Jackson @ljaesthetics Lora Jackson’s tips:

Keep your Make-up wipes & night creams by your bed when you are too tired to do the whole routine. Just clean your face & moisturize.

Pick up a Plastic Bottle with Pump Dispenser on Etsy, Uline or Amazon to create your own blends and just pump them onto your hand.

    • Lora makes her own bedside table quick cleanse by cutting paper towels in 4 Squares and spraying them with Witch Hazel as a make-up remover & toner for oily skin. It helps balance the PH in your skin and exfoliates too.

Hydrate from the inside out with Water, Coconut Water, Bone Broth, Fruits, Pineapple juice, and turmeric too! Find  Lora @ljaesthetics

       Lorelei’s Model Pro Tips:

Remedy for Puffy eyes: Use Tea bags! Drop 2 teabags in hot water. Let steep. I like (PG TIPS, Yorkshire Tea or Lipton) Take out, let cool a tad. Make a cup of tea for yourself and lay back with the tea bags over your eyelids! The tannic acid from the tea reduces swelling and the cup of tea adds sympathy!

Natural Daily Make-up regime for your face and neck:

Avon: The Face Shop Rice Water Bright Cleansing Facial Wipes

Avon Anew Skinvincible Day Lotion Broad Spectrum SPF 50

      Avon Anew Platinum Night Cream

I use Sunblock every day, rain or shine, mixed with my foundation or use I use tinted sunblock instead of make-up.

For my body I use Avon Skin So Soft Bug Guard Plus IR3535® Gentle Breeze® SPF 30 Lotion to block sun and keep the critters away.

Shop Avon with me here: https://www.avon.com/repstore/lshellist?rep=lshellist

    •  For dry chapped skin use Aquaphor healing ointment found in any pharmacy.

All of these products we talked about have been around forever and they are super cheap. We all agreed that you don’t need to spend a million bucks to look like a million bucks.

Shop Avon, Target, Big Lots, Walmart, Walgreens or CVS type stores to find these items at bargain prices.

Ladies of The Leppardett Brigade, Let’s share our wisdom and help each other to love and nurture ourselves while discovering healthy ways to keep our skin healthy & beautiful at any and every age.

Bring Style to Your Life!
